Columbus Day. The best Holiday of the year

In the 12 years I've been a federal employee, Columbus Day has become my favorite holiday. Think about it. No cards. No meals. No decorations (unless you're absofreaking insane). No presents. And my kids never get the day off! It's perfect.

Here's some pics of how I spent this Columbus Day:

We didn't have Mystic Pizza, but we did have some darn good Buffalo Chicken Pizza:

The leaves weren't quite at peak, but they were still awfully pretty:

This is what happens when you spend too much time reading p-dub:

What a gorgeous afternoon it was:

I used to sail one of these:

My friend was megaworried over this horse.

The Witch of Blackbird Pond was one of my all time favorite books as a child. I just couldn't stop thinking of it the entire time I was in Mystic:

Oh well, there are lots (and lots) more pictures where those came from, but it's time for me to get to bed!

I'm so jealous. I'd love to go to Connecticut. I even have relatives up there I haven't seen for about 40 years. Hope you had oodles of fun.

GORGEOUS photos! I hope you had a nice trip up North! Heck you were further North than I was. ;-)
